Educational goals
During the workshop, a path of analysis of the main historical moments that led to the formation of visions, cultures, strategies of peace and rejection / repudiation of war and armed conflict as a tool for affirming geopolitical objectives or for resolving internal and international.

Knowledge and understanding
Participants will learn the ways in which some figures and personalities of the twentieth century world have proposed and succeeded in applying peaceful and non-violent methods for the realization of historical transitions, and will understand the path that has led religious, political, national and international organizations to develop alternatives to the use of force in internal dynamics and between states.

Applying knowledge and understanding
Participants will learn strategies to deal with situations of complexity, competition and confrontation, developing the ability to identify points of contact and compromise capable of leading to mediation and conflict resolution.

Judgment autonomy
The aim is to make students capable of elaborating an autonomous judgment on the conflicting situations in which they will be called to intervene, and more generally to identify scenarios that could lead to conflicts, in order to be able to exercise preventive contrast action.

Communication skills
Knowing how to draw up documents aimed at planning and managing services; knowing how to prepare research/monitoring/evaluation reports; know how to develop and present operational intervention proposals on issues of peace and conflict resolution;

Learning ability
Acquire suitable skills to allow any further postgraduate training courses and/or to allow entry into the world of work.

Programma

The "Communicate peace" laboratory provides worthwhile skills for the start and implementation of educational interventions aimed at deconstructing stereotypes and prejudices and promoting dialogue and knowledge between subjects of different national and cultural origin on a reciprocal and equal foot, in building a peaceful coexistence, starting from historical examples.

Modalità Valutazione

The evaluation will be carried out in a single session through an oral interview in which both the study of the books in the program and any other materials proposed and the understanding of the topics explored in depth in the classroom during the laboratory will be verified. During the exam, the understanding acquired by the student of the socio-cultural dynamics of the peace and war will be assessed, as well as his ability to use historical knowledge in a detailed analysis of the peace and war. Particular attention will be paid to the student's ability to connect the historical events of peace and war to the overall historical picture. There are no ongoing checks. For the purposes of the final evaluation, the teacher will take into account the degree of participation in the classroom (for attending students). The ability to apply historical knowledge, together with knowledge in other disciplines, in an overall analysis of the rpeace and war will also be assessed. For students with DSA, whose certification is deposited with the Student Secretariat, compensatory and/or dispensatory measures are envisaged.
