22910721 - Pedagogy and didactics for inclusion

The course aims to acquire knowledge on the fundamentals of special education and skills in the design of educational actions that can promote the processes of school and social inclusion.
With the study of Special Didactics the student will be able to achieve the following educational objectives.
In terms of knowledge and understanding
- to know the historical, epistemological and methodological-procedural foundations of special didactics;
- understand the role of the socio-affective and emotional dimension in the teaching-learning process.
In terms of the ability to apply knowledge and understanding:
- elaborate, manage and evaluate educational interventions and projects;
- Establish and manage an effective educational relationship with people and groups with special educational needs (BES).
In terms of autonomy of judgement:
- Identify pedagogical actions and devices that can support school and social inclusion processes;
- planning didactic actions aimed at combating early school leaving and overcoming marginalization and discomfort.
In terms of communication skills:
- contribute to group work;
- Simulate didactic actions.
In terms of learning capacity:
- analyse a problematic situation from different points of view;
- be able to access the relevant scientific literature.

Programma

The course intends to encourage a critical reflection on the promotion of the inclusive culture as part of the teacher’s professional practice and, at the same time, wishes to foster the development of methodological skills for taking charge of special educational needs (SEN). For this purpose, particular attention will be paid to creative expressive methodological approaches, to different communication and socio-emotional codes utilized in the educational activity, and to narrative tools valuable in an inclusive perspective for the training of the individual, as well as for the formation of the educational community.

The course will be held in-person with the help of the e-learning platform of the Department (http://formonline.uniroma3.it).

Modalità Erogazione

The course will be held both remotely and in-person. This second modality involves lectures with slide presentations, seminars, meetings with professionals, and trainings. The first modality, on the other hand, includes online laboratory activities, study materials, and group sessions which will engage students with a work of personal and collective reflection upon the contents and methods of inclusive education, already offered on a theorical level during the lectures. Class attendance is optional.

Modalità Valutazione

The final evaluation is mandatory for all the students. The test is written (multiple choice questions) and it will assess the knowledge acquired during the course activities and/or from the literature indicated in the syllabus. Students are reminded to carry out the online reservation correctly in order to take the exam.
