The course, within the framework of the legal phenomenon as an essential and indispensable means within which peoples find development and protection, is intended to provide knowledge of the fundamental principles and norms of the life of the State, of citizens and of all other subjects of the community.
With the study of Constitutional Law the student will be able to achieve the following educational objectives.
In terms of knowledge and understanding:
- to know the historical and epistemological foundations of the discipline;
- to know the fundamental principles and norms of the life of the State, of the citizens and of all the other subjects of the community.
In terms of ability to apply knowledge and understanding:
- to understand the legal phenomenon as a means for the development and protection of peoples;
- interpreting the sources of constitutional law.
In terms of autonomy of judgment:
- Linking legal theories to educational and school situations;
- Identify legal actions capable of fostering development processes.
In terms of communication skills:
- Contribute to group work;
- Simulate legal cases.
In terms of learning capacity:
- analyse a problem situation from several points of view;
- be able to access the relevant scientific literature.

As regards the sources of Italian law, the following topics will be addressed: law and legal regulations: an introduction to the course; Constitution and constitutional laws; law and other legislative acts of the Parliament; Consistency and completeness of the legal system; government regulatory acts; regulatory acts of the Regions and local authorities; international and supranational standards.
As regards the powers, organs and entities of the State, the following topics will be addressed: Parliament, Government, Public administration and local authorities; Judicial power, ordinary judiciary and special judges; theory of neutral power, Head of State and Constitutional Court; models and ways of accessing constitutional justice.
Finally, as regards the rights recognized and guaranteed by the Italian Constitution, the most important principles, rights and freedoms will be examined, with particular insights into the rights of greatest importance for the study of education sciences (for example: article 32 of the Constitution, right to education, re-educational principle, etc.).

Programma
The course is divided into three parts: a first, dedicated to the analysis of the sources of Italian law; a second, dedicated to the study of the powers, organs and entities of the State; a third, dedicated to the study of the rights recognized and guaranteed by the Italian Constitution, also in relation to the international, Euro-Convention and Euro-unitary systems.As regards the sources of Italian law, the following topics will be addressed: law and legal regulations: an introduction to the course; Constitution and constitutional laws; law and other legislative acts of the Parliament; Consistency and completeness of the legal system; government regulatory acts; regulatory acts of the Regions and local authorities; international and supranational standards.
