The Spanish language course aims to develop the four linguistic skills until the A2 level of the common European framework of reference for languages is reached. Reflections on the methodologies of learning foreign languages with theoretical and practical applications will be the subject of the course. In particular, we will focus on the importance of local languages in learning European languages, with particular attention to the convergence between Italian and Spanish languages. Reading and translation work will also be done in the classroom aimed at improving comprehension and linguistic production skills.

Programma

First semester
The Spanish language course aims to develop the four language skills to the level b1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The course will focus on foreign language learning methodologies with theoretical and practical applications. In particular, we will focus on the importance of local languages in the learning of European languages, with particular attention to the convergences between Italian and Spanish languages. There will also be classroom reading and translation work aimed at improving comprehension and language production skills.

Theoretical Part:
Texts available on the professor's electronic faculty bulletin board with the
labels lettura 1, lettura 2, lettura 3.

Grammar Part:
(a) Phonetics, spelling, accentuation.
b) Morphology
- Definite and indefinite articles
- Nouns: gender and number; diminutives and augmentatives
- Adjectives and pronouns: possessive, demonstrative, numeral
- Verb. The three regular conjugations: simple and compound tenses. The main irregular verbs
- Personal pronouns subject and complement
- Degrees of comparison
- Adjectives and pronouns relative, interrogative, indefinite
- Prepositions, adverbs and conjunctions
c) Syntax
- Use of verbs ser, estar, haber, tener
- Differences in the use of the present, the imperfect, and the past tense of the indicative mode
- The main verbal periphrases


(II semester)
The second part of the course is based on aspects of translation from Spanish to Italian with practical exercises. In addition, we will examine the figure of Simón Bolívar and the political and constitutional events of Latin America in the nineteenth century, based on the volume of Giuseppe Cacciatore and Antonio Scocozza, El gran Majadero de América, Naples, La città del sole, 2008, the life, political and military action of Simón Bolívar from p. 29 to p. 76, and always from the same text the readings: Manifiesto de Cartagena and Discurso de Angostura.

Exams:

Written test: it is divided into a test on grammar rules and comprehension. Pay particular
Pay particular attention to the use of the prepositions POR and PARA and to the use of the verbs SER and ESTAR.
Conjugation in the present, imperfect, and past tense of the indicative mode of the most common verbs, in particular: ser, estar, habla.

The second part of the written test consists of a dictation.

Oral test: Reading and translation of the texts of the first module. After verifying the knowledge of the topics of the second module, discussion in Spanish of one of the readings indicated in the program from the volume of Giuseppe Cacciatore and Antonio Scocozza, El gran Majadero de América, Naples, La città del sole, 2008, the life, political and military action of Simón Bolívar from page 29 to page 76, and always from the same text readings: Manifiesto de Cartagena and Discurso de Angostura.
